BBQ this weekend
Just a friendly reminder that this weekend, Saturday July 23rd, we plan on taking over Demeris BBQ at 2911 Shepherd (across the street from Alabama Book Store and the next business north of that small Pappas Seafood Restaurant on the right as you head north on Shepherd from 59). Demeris is giving us their whole space except for a few tables for regular customers. We are scheduled to start at 12:30 PM and just visit and pass a good time. We will have some reports from the Constitution CAN and 2000th American Fatality from Iraqi Memorial plans, but mostly this will be about getting to know our fellow Democrats in the Oil Patch. The event is free--buy whatever you want from the walk thru line and join your friends for some serious eating, drinking, and socializing.

I had a great time at Demeris today - hats off to all those who planned this. It's always so encouraging to have a chance to meet face-to-face with others who share my views. Without this support I start to wonder if I'm just nuts. We have a great group of interesting, professional folks with creative ideas. I'm so excited to be part of this initative.
