Solar Rayce 2005

A 2500 mile race from Austin to Calgary started at 9 this morning. All cars in the race are powered 100% by solar power, although they do have batteries that charge when the sun is intense and allow the cars to continue in cloudy conditions. These cars, while experimental, are getting better all the time, and can clock 70 MPH.
